01Stories with a link
Put a link on your story, in your own words
Choose a photo or video from your computer, paste your link and write what the sticker should say, like SHOP MY LOOK or Read the post. Drag it to where it should sit, then press Share.
How to post to Instagram from a PC- Links work on video stories too, with a song if you want one.
- The sticker is drawn where you put it, and the whole sticker is the tap area.
- Close friends only, or keep it up for 48 hours: it posts itself again when the first 24 hours end.
- Story sets: up to 10 photos and videos, each with its own link and sticker words, posted in the order you chose or scheduled together.
02Posts and reels
Post photos, carousels and reels from your computer
Drag in your files and post them the way the app would: one photo, a carousel of up to 10 photos and videos, or a reel. Write the caption on a real keyboard and read it on a big screen before it goes up.
- Choose a reel's cover frame, and add collaborators, a location and alt text.
- Put your hashtags in the first comment. InstaDesk adds it once the post is up.
- After a post goes up, press Share to story and it goes on your story as a card, like the one Instagram's app makes. Tapping the card opens your post.
03Music
Add Instagram's music to a story or reel
Search for a song in the composer, play a preview and press Use. The results are Instagram's own music, so the song goes on your story or reel as it would from the app. It's free, every time. If Instagram has nothing for a search, you see 30-second previews for ideas, which can't be attached.
- Instagram audio keeps the sounds from reels you've scrolled past, ready to use on your own reel.
- A video story can carry a song and a link together.
04Scheduling
Schedule posts, reels and stories
Pick a day and a time, and InstaDesk posts it for you while Instagram is open in a tab. The month calendar shows what's coming. Drag a post to another day to move it.
- Stories and whole story sets too, which Instagram's own website can't schedule.
- Two accounts? A scheduled post waits for the one that made it, and goes up when you switch back.
- Free: 2 waiting at a time, and each frame of a story set counts as one. Pro: as many as you like.
05Downloads
Download photos, videos, reels and stories
Press InstaDesk's download button on any post, or Download photos and videos on its first screen, and save what you see in full quality. Free, with no limit.
06Replies and Ask
Reply drafts and Ask, when you want help with words
Reply drafts writes replies to comments on your posts and to your DMs, for you to read. For a DM, InstaDesk opens the conversation (or their profile, for a first hello) with the reply ready, and you press Instagram's Send. Nothing goes to anyone until you do.
Ask answers questions about your own account from what InstaDesk has read, like who unfollowed you this week, and writes captions with you.
- Message requests, from people you haven't talked to yet, can't be read on instagram.com right now, so they get no draft. InstaDesk tells you how many are waiting.
- Free: 5 questions to Ask, and 10 uses of Reply drafts. Pro: up to 100 questions a day. With your own AI key, none of it is counted.
- Reply drafts stays off until you read its notice and tick it: Instagram's terms forbid automated interaction, and that risk is yours.
07Languages
In English, 日本語 and Português
A new install asks which language you want, with your browser's already picked, and Settings changes it any time. Ask answers in your language, and a reply drafted for a DM or a comment keeps the language of the conversation. A few rare messages and logs stay in English for now.

Your account and your data
Safe to use
InstaDesk never asks for your Instagram password. It works through the session already in your browser, as you, and it can't reach your account when your browser is closed.
Stays on your computer
Everything InstaDesk saves is kept in Chrome on your computer: your scheduled posts and their files, your settings, your follower snapshots, reply drafts and their log, the activity log, and what it knows about your account (your numbers by day, kept a year, with export and forget). Uninstalling removes it, except the files of posts you scheduled and the What it knows record, which stay in instagram.com's storage in Chrome until you cancel those posts and press Forget everything, or clear instagram.com's site data.
Reaches InstaDesk's server: four things
- Your Instagram account's numeric ID, a random install ID, and how many free uses of each Pro tool you have spent, so a reinstall doesn't reset them.
- A daily count of AI requests, to keep to the daily limit. Kept 35 days.
- Daily totals of how often the upgrade screen is shown, checkout is opened and someone pays, with the version number. From 3.3.3, also daily totals of which tools are opened, how many posts go up or fail and which errors come up, unless you turn off Share anonymous usage counts in Settings. No account, no install ID, no username, no post, caption, message or link.
- Only when you use InstaDesk's own AI: your question, the parts of your record it needs and the page you have open (for Reply drafts, the comments and messages it answers and who wrote them). The relay passes it to the AI provider and keeps none of it. With your own AI key it goes straight to your provider instead.
What InstaDesk doesn't do
- No analytics services, tracking pixels or crash reporting. The only counting is the daily totals above, with no names.
- No ads from other companies, and no selling of data to anyone.
- Nothing is sent in a DM or a comment until you have read it and pressed Send.
- Nothing touches your account unless an Instagram tab is open.
- Card details go straight to Stripe. InstaDesk never sees them.
- Bot detection only reads, and never removes a follower for you.

These are the free amounts for installs since 13 September 2026. If you installed InstaDesk before then, you keep the larger amounts you were given. With your own AI key, Ask and Reply drafts are never counted. On the free plan InstaDesk's AI answers up to 5 times a day, shared by Ask, captions and Reply drafts; Pro's 100 a day is shared the same way. Free uses are counted per Instagram account. A follower scan runs at most once a day per account on every plan.

Asked before installing
- Does InstaDesk need my Instagram password?
- No. It never asks for it. InstaDesk works through the Instagram session already in your browser, and it can't reach your account when your browser is closed.
- Is it really free?
- Posting photos, carousels, reels and stories, links on stories, Instagram's own music and downloads are free, with no limit and nothing to sign up for. Pro is $1.99 a month for unlimited scheduling and the other tools.
- Do scheduled posts go out if my computer is off?
- They go out while Instagram is open in a tab on your computer. If Chrome is closed at that moment, the post goes up as soon as you open instagram.com again.
- Which browsers and computers does it work on?
- Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook. Other Chromium browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store, such as Microsoft Edge, work too. It doesn't run on phones: it's for instagram.com on a computer.
- Can it get my account in trouble?
- Posting, stories, music and downloads are one action for each press, through your own session, as if you did them on instagram.com. The tools that act without a press for each action, Reply drafts and Grow account, stay off until you read and tick a risk notice, because Instagram's terms forbid automated interaction and that risk is yours. Follower scans are paced like a person scrolling and run once a day.
- How do I cancel Pro?
- From inside InstaDesk, any time. Payment goes through ExtensionPay and Stripe, and InstaDesk never sees your card.
- Is InstaDesk made by Instagram?
- No. InstaDesk is an independent tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
